Now thats what I wanted to see. I was particularly keen to see a shot with its tail up. The tail up means that you're starting to get serious.

Now I'd like to see a shot of it with its tail up while the tacho is at redline. LOL

The fastest run I did with it was with the 308 that I had in it last and it went 8300rpm with 14.9% step up and an 18" pitch prop.

Some where around 200kph I believe, maybe more. It all depends on the efficiency of the prop.

I sold it with a bailey gear box in it with a set of gears made by haynes and hellyer. Ratio was 14.9 % step up. There was a second set of gears which were made at the same time which were 23%. Both sets of gears were complete with shafts so that it was just a simple job to change them. Just split the box and the shafts and gears could be lifted out and the other set just slide in, bolt it back together.

For circuit racing I just used the 14.9% ratio, at some stage if the oportunity came up to run the boat on kilo again, I would have changed over to the taller gears.

The engine which is the one that is going into the new boat is the same one which I was using in your boat before i sold it. At Bundy in 2004 on the friday afternoon was when I did that run at 8300 rpm and Fish got it on video. By the way I've worked out since then that 8300 rpm was actually valve bounce with that set of valver springs and a better set will be in the engine when it goes in the new hull.

So for all intents and purposes it was a 120 mph 5 ltr rear seat circuit hydro.
