Predator has the non supercharged version of the rolls royce V12. The merlin was supercharged and produced around 1500 to 1600 horsepower. The engine in predator is the engine that was used in the centurion tank and were rated at about 800 hp. The two engines are identical except for the means of aspiration.

Spook

PS The unsupercharged version of the Merlin is called the Rolls Royce Meteor.

The Meteor actually rotates in the opposite direction to the Merlin. And Predator has two gearboxes ( both designed by Ray Jones) that work in tandem to raise the revs. Each box has a chain set rather than directly meshed gears. The chains etc are high-pressure lubricated. Ray did all this in his 80's.
